Soldier in trouble for raping 15-yr-old boy 

A serving soldier is in serious trouble after he was accused of raping a 15-year-old boy through the anus.


A soldier, attached to the 72 Battalion based in Makurdi, the Benue State capital identified as Corporal Bashir, is in serious trouble after he was accused of raping a 15-year-old boy, James Usar.


According to Raymond Asema, a youth leader in the Yagba area of North Bank, a suburb of Makurdi, Usar who is an apprentice mechanic,
has been working on the soldier’s vehicle for some time before the incident.

Asema who narrated the incident to newsmen said Corporal Bashir had lodged at a hotel in the area called White House Hotel, and asked the boy to come to his hotel room and helped him wash some clothes.

“He deliberately delayed the boy in his hotel room until he slept off. Around 2 am, he sodomized the boy.

The following day, the soldier sent the boy away, only for the Corporal to later mobilize other soldiers to arrest the boy accusing him of stealing N200,000. He was taken to the barracks where he was beaten up.”

When the spokesperson of the 72 Battalion, Captain Ohegbe, was contacted on the incident, he said:
 
"We received a complaint concerning the soldier, but he has been deployed from Makurdi. We have to forward the complaint to his present place of assignment in the North-East. We will inform you of the outcome.”
