Actress, Yetunde Akilapa Arrested For Stealing         Nollywood actress, Yetunde Akilapa, has again been arrested for theft. This is coming three years after she was first caught stealing. This time Akilapa was nabbed as she tried to gain unlawful access into a house in Magodo Shangisha, Lagos. The first time she was nabbed, she was trying to break into a beauty lounge with a master key, after closing hours in Yaba, where she worked. The actress was again arrested yesterday with a bunch of master keys, while trying them on the door of a house in Magodo. She was unaware one of the occupants was around. She was first beaten before being handed over to the police. FIFA’s Prize For Super Eagles Performance At The 2018 World Cup Tournament Revealed  The World football governing body, FIFA, will pay the   Super Eagles of Nigeria   and other nations that crashed out from the group stages of the 2018 World Cup tournament £6.1m each. According to reports, Nigeria would have received £9.1 million if they had progressed to the round of 16 stage. This is because any team eliminated from the round of 16 stage will receive £9.1million. The World Cup-winning nation is expected to receive £28 million in prize money from FIFA, with 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams receiving £21million, £18million and £16million respectively. Meanwhile, before the tournament, the 32 nations were given £1.1million each to prepare for the World Cup .

One of them is this imam from the village of Nghar Yelwa in Plateau State, who saved 262 Christians from Fulani Herdsmen on Sunday. The herdsmen had attacked 3 local governments in the state killing over 100 people, one of them Barkin Ladi, where the people had escaped from. Sharing his story with BBC Pidgin, the imam said he first took the women, number about 60 to his home, and the men to the mosque to hide. The herdsmen later accosted him, he shared, and ordered him to give up the Christians. But he lied and told them all the people with him were Muslims. It’s so refreshing, seeing that some of us are not letting ideologies and religion and tribe divide us. So inspiring.

A youth corp member identified as Medlin Chisom has complained about her boss at her Place of Primary Assignment who is sexually harassing her. According to her, she has been frequently queried for looking good in her working place. The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, LASEMA, has confirmed nine people dead and 53 vehicles burnt in the aftermath of the fuel tanker explosion on Otedola Bridge, inward Berger area of Lagos, Southwest Nigeria on Thursday. General Manager, LASEMA, Adesina Tiamiyu told PM News that the tanker fell around 5:53pm and exploded, while vehicle behind it were caught in the fire. He said nine people were burnt beyond recognition while four others were rescued, with two in critical condition and two others with minor injuries. According to him, 53 vehicles were consumed in the inferno, describing the incident as a sad one. Tiamiyu added that officials of LASTMA, FRSC, LASEMA, Police, fire services, among others were still at the scene trying to evacuate the remains of the tanker and vehicles and free the road for vehicular movement.

The Federal Government has declared Friday, 15th and Monday, 18th June as public holidays to celebrate this year’s Eid-el Fitr. This was confirmed by the Minister of Interior, Abdulrahman Dambazau, on Monday, in a statement signed by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Dr M. B. Umar on Monday. He congratulated the Muslim faithful on a successful completion of the Ramadan. The Minister also enjoined all Nigerians to use the occasion of the celebration to pray for the peace, unity, prosperity and stability of the nation. Dambazau urged all Nigerians to be inspired by the virtues gained during the Holy Month of Ramadan to live a life of sacrifice, charity and love for one another.
